Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about exchanging Bitcoin for Monero — and swapping any other asset — without KYC, without an account, and without frozen funds. Clear answers, no jargon.
Getting Started
No account, no email, no registration of any kind. Open the exchange widget, select BTC as your send asset and XMR as your receive asset, enter your Monero wallet address, and start the swap. That is the entire onboarding process — from first visit to completed order in under two minutes.
Correct. We will never ask for a government ID, passport, selfie, proof of address, or source-of-funds declaration — not at signup (there is no signup), not mid-transaction, and not at completion. Unlike exchanges that allow deposits freely but freeze Monero withdrawals pending compliance review, our risk controls run before a swap is accepted. Once an order is confirmed, it executes automatically through to your wallet without interruption.
Any of our 60+ supported assets can be swapped to XMR without identity verification. The most popular sources are BTC (our top route), USDT across seven networks (ERC20, TRC20, BEP20, Arbitrum, Polygon, Solana, TON), ETH and its Layer-2 variants, USDC on six networks, and coins like LTC, SOL, BNB, DOGE, and DASH. See the full list in the exchange widget.
The minimum order size is the equivalent of $100 USD in any asset. The maximum is $282,100 USD equivalent per order. These limits are the same for all users globally — there are no higher tiers unlocked by identity verification. They exist as a structural control against abuse, not as a gatekeeping mechanism.
Yes, and we actively support it. Tor and VPN traffic is treated identically to direct connections on Eigenwallet. There are no rate limits, CAPTCHAs, blocks, or additional friction for users connecting through privacy networks. Adding a network layer on top of our application-level privacy is the most thorough approach for users who want maximum anonymity.
The BTC → XMR Swap Process
Total time depends on Bitcoin network congestion. Bitcoin transactions typically require 1–3 confirmations, which takes anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes depending on network activity and the fee you paid. Once your BTC confirms, our engine executes the XMR output immediately. Most BTC to XMR swaps complete within 15–25 minutes from the moment you send.
1. Select BTC as your send asset and XMR as your receive asset. 2. Enter the Monero wallet address where you want to receive your XMR. 3. Our engine generates a unique one-time Bitcoin deposit address for your order and locks your BTC/XMR rate for 30 minutes. 4. Send Bitcoin from any wallet to that deposit address. 5. Once the Bitcoin network confirms your transaction, the swap executes automatically and Monero is sent directly to your XMR address. No human review occurs at any step.
If the deposited amount falls below the minimum threshold shown on your order page, the automated engine will not trigger the swap. Contact support@eigenwallet.exchange immediately with your Order ID and the transaction hash (TXID). Always verify the minimum BTC amount before sending — it is displayed clearly on the order page.
We lock the exchange rate for 30 minutes from order creation to protect you from market volatility while your Bitcoin is in transit and waiting for confirmations. If your BTC transaction confirms within the 30-minute window, you receive exactly the rate shown at order creation. If the timer expires before your deposit confirms, the swap executes at the then-current market rate. For Bitcoin, starting the transfer promptly after creating your order ensures you stay within the lock window.
Privacy & Data
We store only the mechanical data required to route your swap: the one-time Bitcoin deposit address, your Monero destination address, the asset pair, the amount, and an order timestamp. This data exists in a temporary PHP session state. Once your browser session ends, the link between this metadata and your device is permanently severed. We maintain no persistent user database and no transaction history linked to any individual.
Bitcoin is a fully transparent ledger — every transaction you have ever made is permanently visible and traceable on-chain. Monero is the opposite: its Ring Confidential Transactions, stealth addresses, and Ring Signatures make all transaction details cryptographically hidden. Converting BTC to XMR severs the on-chain link between your Bitcoin history and your new Monero balance. Your XMR has no visible connection to the Bitcoin that funded it — this is why BTC → XMR is our most traded route by a wide margin.
Yes. USDT to XMR is our second-most popular route after BTC → XMR. We support USDT on seven different networks (ERC20, TRC20, BEP20, Arbitrum, Polygon, Solana, TON). Choose the network your USDT is on, enter your Monero address, and complete the swap with no verification whatsoever. TRC20 is typically the fastest and cheapest option for converting stablecoins to Monero.
No. We do not provide wallets, we do not maintain user balances, and we do not hold private keys on behalf of users. Your Bitcoin is held at a one-time deposit address only for the brief period required to confirm the transaction. Monero is sent directly from our routing infrastructure to your specified XMR address. There is no intermediate account balance and no custodial risk at any point.
Troubleshooting & Support
First, use a Bitcoin block explorer to confirm your transaction is fully confirmed on-chain with the required number of confirmations — not just broadcast. Also verify your BTC was sent to the correct deposit address for your specific order. If your transaction is confirmed and more than 30 minutes have passed, email support@eigenwallet.exchange with your Order ID (ORD-XXXXXXXX format) and your Bitcoin TXID. Our team resolves stuck orders quickly.
Sending an asset that differs from your order (for example, sending ETH to a BTC deposit address, or sending BTC on the wrong network layer) is a critical error that the automated engine cannot process alone. Contact support immediately at support@eigenwallet.exchange with your Order ID, the transaction hash, and a full description of what was sent. We will attempt recovery on a best-effort basis — the sooner you report it, the better the chances.
